XRAY Asutralia Driver Jesse Newman wins the last round of the Sunshine State Interclub series. Hers what Jess and his dad Gavin had to say.
The final round of the Sunshine State Interclub Series has been run and won by Jesse against some stiff competition. The series was run between the Rockhampton, Gladstone, Moranbah and Mackay clubs. Non members were able to enter but not eligible for points or trophies. In the final meeting at Gladstone we had all the fast guys there Aaron Stringer, Tim Mackay and Shane Frieberg attend from Brisbane. TQ after three rounds went to Jason Dykoff, second was Aaron Stringer and third was Tim Mackay with Jacob Wilson, Gavin and Jesse 4th, 5th and 6th respectively.
Finals Time!!!! with the track totally blown out by the A main, it was going to be a tough race. With Jason Dykoff and Aaron Stringer dropping out with breakages, it was the combination of Xray, Nova Rossi and Proline durability and the consistency of Jesse’s driving which saw him finish a lap clear of 2nd placed Tim Mackay driving a Serpent powered by Nova Rossi with Jacob Wilson finishing third a further lap down, driving Hobao, also powered by Nova Rossi. I was able to make my way into second place and hold it for 9 laps before the dreaded flame out, not once but twice which put me back to fifth were I stayed for the remainder of the race.

The final positions for the series were Jason Dykoff, first, Jacob Wilson, second and Jesse finishing third with only 20 points separating the three.
Regards, Gav and Jesse Newman
